Air Duel (World, M82 hardware) — play guide
What Air Duel wants from you
Air Duel (Irem) is a vertical war shoot cab with plane/heli choice and dense ground fire: clear stages with lane honesty and bomb timing before continues empty. Lane honesty beats spray. Learn Air Duel windows cold—do not paste Air Assault or 194x charts blindly. Calm first stages until bomb timing and craft choice are narratable; airduel chrome is packaging, not free invulnerability or free stage clears on every board for vanity bombs dumped into thin screens while ground turrets finish the credit.
First minutes in Air Duel
First stages: pick the craft you can narrate, hold a side lane, and learn bomb timing before inventing center-spray tourism through every formation. Power-cycle once so Air Duel chrome stops looking like a later Irem vertical cab. Early stages teach Air Duel grammar: planned bombs before spray routes that die mid-stage when denser bullet packs arrive on later boards. Hold that grammar before vanity bombs. Watch air and ground layers together—tunneling on the boss face while turrets chip is how first credits end.
Core systems in Air Duel
Vertical scroll flight, craft-specific shot profiles, bombs, ground and air scripts, stage goals, lives/continues, and Air Duel UI define the systems. Skill is bomb economy under pressure—not dumping bombs into thin screens for vanity clears. After continues, reconfirm bomb stock, craft, and power state before racing again. Keep a one-sentence bomb-economy rule ready before the second stage starts on this Irem vertical war set, and reclaim a stable lane after every bomb instead of drifting into the next spawn door.
Score, continues, and resources in Air Duel
Stage clears and survival score the run; hits and empty bombs tax continues. Continues are coins while learning denser mid-stage curtains. Fewer panic sprays and fewer wasted bombs keep credits alive. Farming early stages forever without reading denser packs still leaves Air Duel unread. Progress is Irem chrome that no longer forces death loops mid-stage on later boards, not a pasted clear that still dies the moment ground fire and air streams overlap on a craft you never practiced.
Mistakes that burn credits in Air Duel
Spraying center every wave, wasting bombs on thin packs, ignoring ground turrets while staring at a boss face, tunneling on sparkle while a bullet finishes you, and freezing until the screen fills burn Air Duel credits. Players also switch craft mid-tilt without a plan. Power-cycling mid-tilt without a plan burns another credit. Next credit: lane hold, bomb when dense, check both layers—stop mash tourism for scenery and bullet panic on later Irem boards.
Next steps after Air Duel
When Air Duel stages clear without constant empty-bomb deaths, compare Air Assault and Image Fight deliberately for Irem vertical contrast, then return with drills on the overlapping-layer stages that still tax you. Keep playing until panic-spray empties stop ending sessions mid-stage on later boards. Cousin Irem vertical shooters help as contrast after Air Duel feels automatic—not as escape from stages you still freeze for chrome. Clear one full stage carefully before you chase vanity bombs or craft tourism again.
