About Sankokushi (Japan)

Mitchell developed this adult Shanghai solitaire game where players must clear the board by selecting specific three-tile sets. Unlike standard mahjong solitaire, you remove tiles in groups of three matching icons or sequential number sets like 1-3, 4-6, or 7-9. Highlighting a tile illuminates potential matches in pink or matching colors to help find the four required sets before the timer expires.

Player layout in our catalog: 2P sim.

If you are exploring by feel rather than by title, jump from the tags above into the matching genre rooms, or return to the Arcade hall for the full wall.

Open Play on this page to start Sankokushi (Japan). Keyboard, USB/Bluetooth pads, and the on-screen touch gamepad all work inside the emulator bar. Save states and fullscreen live on that same bar so you can pause mid-session and resume later.

Sankokushi (Japan) — play guide

What Sankokushi wants from you

Sankokushi is an arcade strategy / action cab: clear stages with timing honesty before continues empty. Timing honesty beats mash. Learn Sankokushi windows cold—do not paste later strategy dumps blindly. Calm first stages until unit timing is narratable; 3kokushi chrome is packaging, not free clears or free stage clears on every board for vanity rushes through every wave.

First minutes in Sankokushi

First stages: peek unit windows, time actions, ignore scenic bait that invites panic mash. Power-cycle once so Sankokushi chrome stops looking like a later strategy cab. Early stages teach Sankokushi grammar: planned units before mash routes that death-tax mid-stage when denser wave packs arrive on later boards. Hold that grammar before vanity rushes.

Core systems in Sankokushi

Unit select, timing, stage goals, lives/continues, and Sankokushi UI define the systems. Skill is unit literacy under pressure—not mashing every button into a miss. After continues, reconfirm stage and unit state before racing again. Keep a one-sentence peek-before-rush rule ready before the second stage starts on this strategy / action set.

Score, continues, and resources in Sankokushi

Stage clears and survival score the run; hits and fails tax continues. Continues are coins. Fewer panic rushes and fewer ignored peeks keep credits alive. Farming early stages forever without reading denser waves still leaves Sankokushi unread. Progress is chrome that no longer forces death loops mid-stage on later boards, not a pasted clear.

Mistakes that burn credits in Sankokushi

Mash-rushing every wave, ignoring unit peeks, never waiting for a clean window, tunneling on scenery while a hit finishes you, and rage-continuing after death streaks burn credits. Power-cycling mid-tilt without a plan burns another credit. Next credit: peek first, unit on plan—stop mash tourism for scenery and stage panic on later boards.

Next steps after Sankokushi

When Sankokushi stages clear without constant deaths, compare other strategy / action cabinets deliberately, then return with unit drills. Keep playing until panic-mash empties stop ending sessions mid-stage on later boards. Cousin hybrid cabinets help as contrast after Sankokushi feels automatic—not as escape from stages you still mash for chrome. Clear one full stage carefully before you chase vanity rushes again.
