About Ambush
The takeoff sequence requires players to repeatedly press the left and right controls to launch their spaceship into flight. Once airborne, the chase-view gameplay transitions into combat, where you must navigate and shoot down incoming enemy spaceships to survive the encounter.

Ambush — play guide
What Ambush wants from you
Ambush (Tecfri) is arena shoot: lane honesty, formation peeks, and movement timing decide waves more than center spray. Your job is reading dive paths before you commit a stream—freezing mid-screen while the pack closes empties lives fast. Continues buy lane literacy, not free waves. Ambush rewards movement first and honest singles over vanity sprays into empty air. Clear waves with composure left; the chrome sells Tecfri arena flash, but the scripts sell closing threats you peek early.
First minutes in Ambush
On early waves, learn strafe-and-shoot composure before inventing freeze-aim hero sprays that die in the open. Circle rather than camping a corner that fills from two sides. Collect power when the lane is honest; diving through lace for vanity is expensive. Early waves are motion labs. One clean wave with composure left beats three corner deaths that looked aggressive until a spawn you ignored arrived.
Core systems in Ambush
Multi-directional movement, shot fire, enemy wave scripts, power-ups as mapped, and stage layouts define Ambush. Continues fund denser waves as later mixes tighten. Lethal close threats change by wave—tunnel vision on far targets while a near enemy deletes you is classic. Survival motion gates every ambush fantasy the cabinet sells. Spray religions while standing still are still empty lives with extra muzzle flash under Tecfri density.
Score, continues, and resources in Ambush
Waves survived with lives left beat corner tourism that looks busy and still dies. Continues while motion composure builds; cut them once freeze-aim and corner camping stop ending credits. Score waits until survival motion is boring under pressure. Extends follow score when present—clean waves beat farming wave one forever for vanity kills that still die parked.
Mistakes that burn credits in Ambush
Corner camping, freeze-aiming without moving, ignoring close threats for far vanity, and pickup greed through lace are classic Ambush mistakes. Strafe always, prioritize touch/near threats, and collect when the lane is honest. Ambush art will not refill a wasted life. Treating the stick as optional while you aim is how Tecfri collects the next credit every wave.
Next steps after Ambush
Robotron is Williams twin-stick arena if you want pure motion after Ambush. Smash TV is Midway arena spraying when you want power guns once denser collectible chaos arrives. Time Pilot is Konami multi-directional shooting once Ambush motion finally sticks and you want looping sky stages instead of ground ambushes. Keep playing until panic-spray empties stop ending sessions mid-wave on later boards. Clear one full careful wave before you chase vanity sprays again on denser arena cabinets.
