About Shocking

Controlling a werewolf, players navigate single-screen maze levels to complete specific objectives. Each stage consists of 12 rounds followed by a boss battle. Completing mini-game challenges interspersed throughout the stages allows the player to earn extra lives, while puzzle elements and action-oriented combat drive the progression toward returning the character to their normal form.

Player layout in our catalog: 2P sim.

Open Play on this page to start Shocking. Keyboard, USB/Bluetooth pads, and the on-screen touch gamepad all work inside the emulator bar. Save states and fullscreen live on that same bar so you can pause mid-session and resume later.

Shocking — play guide

What Shocking wants from you

Shocking is an arcade action / maze cab: clear stages with route honesty before continues empty. Route honesty beats mash. Learn Shocking windows cold—do not paste later maze dumps blindly. Calm first stages until move timing is narratable; shocking chrome is packaging, not free invulnerability or free stage clears on every board for vanity rushes.

First minutes in Shocking

First stages: peek hazard paths, time moves, ignore scenic bait that invites panic mash. Power-cycle once so Shocking chrome stops looking like a later maze cab. Early stages teach Shocking grammar: planned moves before mash routes that death-tax mid-stage when denser hazard packs arrive on later boards. Hold that grammar before vanity rushes.

Core systems in Shocking

Move, collect, hazard dodge as wired, stage goals, lives/continues, and Shocking UI define the systems. Skill is route literacy under pressure—not mashing every path into a hit. After continues, reconfirm stage state before racing again. Keep a one-sentence peek-before-move rule ready before the second stage starts on this arcade action / maze set.

Score, continues, and resources in Shocking

Stage clears and survival score the run; hits and falls tax continues. Continues are coins. Fewer panic moves and fewer ignored peeks keep credits alive. Farming early stages forever without reading denser hazards still leaves Shocking unread. Progress is chrome that no longer forces death loops mid-stage on later boards, not a pasted clear.

Mistakes that burn credits in Shocking

Mash-rushing every path, ignoring hazard peeks, never waiting for a clean window, tunneling on scenery while a hit finishes you, and rage-continuing after hit streaks burn credits. Power-cycling mid-tilt without a plan burns another credit. Next credit: peek first, move on plan—stop mash tourism for scenery and stage panic on later boards.

Next steps after Shocking

When Shocking stages clear without constant hits, compare other maze action cabinets deliberately, then return with route drills. Keep playing until panic-mash empties stop ending sessions mid-stage on later boards. Cousin maze cabinets help as contrast after Shocking feels automatic—not as escape from stages you still mash for chrome. Clear one full stage carefully before you chase vanity rushes again.
